Anubias

Anubias is a rhizome plant that grows attached to wood or rock rather than rooted in gravel. It is slow, tough and forgiving, which makes it one of the most reliable plants we carry.

Growing Anubias

  • Rhizome: tie or glue the rhizome to hardscape and leave it sitting above the substrate. Burying it causes it to rot.
  • Lighting: low light suits it. Strong light mostly encourages algae on the older leaves.
  • CO2: not needed.
  • Placement: midground, or attached to wood and stone anywhere it catches the eye.
  • Difficulty: undemanding.

Because growth is slow, a single plant holds its shape for a long time. Availability changes as new stock arrives, so this page reflects what we have today. Plants are sold for local pickup at the Lethbridge store.

Pair it with a piece of Driftwood to mount it on.
