Shark

Freshwater sharks are not true sharks. The name covers a mixed set of active, streamlined fish such as bala, rainbow and red tail sharks, most of them cyprinids. What they share is the profile and a need for room.

Room and temperament

Several grow considerably larger than their store size, so tank length matters more than anything else. Strong filtration, good oxygenation and clear swimming space suit them, with rocks or wood to break the line of sight.

Temperament runs from generally peaceful shoalers to distinctly territorial individuals, so choose tank mates thoughtfully and avoid keeping two of the more territorial types together.

The fish shown are what we have on hand today; stock changes as new arrivals come in. Livestock is sold for local pickup at our Lethbridge store.
