Rasbora

Rasboras are small shoaling fish from Southeast Asia, a group taking in the familiar harlequin along with several much smaller species. Most stay modest in size and fit tanks where larger fish could not.

Conditions they like

Soft, slightly acidic water, gentle flow and a planted tank with driftwood and tannin-stained water bring out their colour. A darker substrate helps, and they settle quickly when kept in a decent-sized group.

They are peaceful and unobtrusive, which makes them good companions for other small, calm species and a sound choice for a first planted community.
