Goldfish

Goldfish are coldwater fish and are best kept on their own terms rather than mixed into a tropical community. Fancy varieties with rounded bodies and single-tail types have quite different needs, and the two are not usually kept together.

The practical points are space and filtration. Goldfish grow, they eat heavily and they produce a lot of waste, so generous filtration and regular water changes matter more here than with most small tropicals. Fancy varieties also prefer gentle flow, while single-tail types are strong swimmers that want length.

They suit unheated tanks and patient keepers who plan for the adult size rather than the size in the bag. Availability rotates with each shipment. Livestock is sold for pickup in Lethbridge.
