- Match pump and filter capacity to the volume of the pond rather than to the size of the fish
- Plan for winter early, since Alberta ponds need aeration or a de-icer to stay viable
- Treat tap water before it goes in, and watch water quality through warm spells
Most pond customers pick up treatments and filter media alongside food, so it is worth checking both at the same time.
