Reef PVC Valves

Valves let you shut down or throttle part of a plumbing run without draining the system. Two types are stocked here: Spears Schedule 80 gate valves and a grey Schedule 80 double-union ball valve.

Which to use where

Ball valves open and close quickly and are the usual choice for isolation, and a double-union body also unthreads so a pump can come out for cleaning without cutting pipe. Gate valves close gradually, which makes them better for fine-tuning flow, particularly on a drain line where a ball valve is too abrupt. Both are sized by pipe diameter, so match them to the run you already have.

Valves are bought with pipe, fittings and cement.
