Catfish

Catfish cover an enormous range in the freshwater hobby, from armoured corydoras a few centimetres long to species that outgrow most home aquariums entirely. Adult size is the single most useful thing to check on any catfish listing.

As a group they are bottom-oriented and mostly nocturnal or crepuscular. Smooth sand or rounded gravel protects barbels, and caves, wood or shaded overhangs give them somewhere to sit out the bright part of the day. Many of the smaller species are shoaling and are far more settled in groups.

There is a catfish for almost every tank, from a first community setup to a dedicated species display. Availability rotates with each shipment. Livestock is sold for pickup at our Lethbridge store.
