Danio

Danios are fast, hardy shoaling cyprinids and a sensible first fish for a newly settled aquarium. Most species stay small and slim, and they spend their time cruising the upper half of the tank.

Keep them in groups of six or more; smaller numbers make them restless and more likely to chase. They tolerate a wider temperature range than most tropicals, which makes them useful in rooms that run cool, and they appreciate open swimming length and a little current. They are accomplished jumpers, so a lid is important.

Well suited to beginners and to busy community tanks. Species and colour forms change with each shipment, so what is listed is what we have on hand. Livestock is sold for pickup at our Lethbridge store.
