Collection: Dwarf Cichlid

Dwarf cichlids are the small members of the family: apistogramma, rams, kribensis and their relatives. They bring cichlid behaviour to tanks that could never house a full-sized species.

Conditions

Most appreciate warm, soft water, a fine substrate and broken-up territory built from wood, plants, leaf litter and caves. Clean water counts for a great deal with this group; they are less forgiving of neglect than their size suggests.

Pairs are territorial around a chosen spot, particularly when breeding, but are otherwise reasonable community residents alongside calm mid-water fish such as small tetras.

They suit keepers who want interesting behaviour in a modest tank and are willing to stay on top of maintenance.

Availability changes as new fish arrive and this page shows current stock. Livestock is sold for local pickup at our Lethbridge store.
