Myriophyllum
Myriophyllum is a stem plant with finely divided, feather-like leaves. Grouped together the stems read almost as a soft haze, which works well as a backdrop for fish with strong colour.
Growing Myriophyllum
- Stem plant: plant stems individually, spaced enough that light still reaches the lower leaves.
- Lighting: moderate to high light keeps the lower stems from going bare.
- CO2: optional. It will grow without it.
- Placement: background, or midground where you want fine texture.
- Difficulty: moderate. The fine foliage traps debris and appreciates a gentle rinse now and then.
Trim the tops and replant them as the group grows in. What we have listed is our current stock, which rotates. Plants are sold for local pickup in Lethbridge.
See also Limnophila for a similar whorled leaf.
