Seven color guppies (Poecilia reticulata) are a multicoloured line rather than a fixed pattern, and that is the appeal — individual males carry different combinations of blue, green, orange, red and black across the body and fins, so no two look alike. This listing is for males. Because the line is not colour-stable, we would encourage you to pick your fish in person rather than expect a specific look.
Aquarium care
- Males stay around 3 to 4 cm in the body.
- Prefers hard, alkaline water and steady temperatures.
- Peaceful, quick and active in the upper levels of the tank.
- Keep flow moderate so long fins are not constantly worked against the current.
- Takes flake, micro-pellets and small frozen foods.
- Very vulnerable to fin-nipping tankmates.
They suit a peaceful hard-water community with platies, corydoras, otocinclus and small rasboras. Keeping males only avoids fry entirely; a mixed group needs two or three females per male. Never release aquarium fish into local waterways or garden ponds.
