Seachem Matrix Carbon

Matrix Carbon is a bead-shaped activated carbon for stripping dissolved organics, colour and odour out of aquarium water.

Key features

• Removes the dissolved organics that give an established tank its yellow cast
• Spherical beads let water flow through the media rather than channelling around a packed mass
• Rinse before use to wash the dust off
• Suitable for fresh and marine aquariums

Carbon is a finite thing. It fills up and then simply sits there, so it gets replaced rather than cleaned. Take it out of the filter before you medicate a tank, since carbon will adsorb many medications straight back out of the water, and put fresh media in once the course has finished.

Runs in a media bag in a canister, sump or any high-flow chamber. For carbon and other media in different filter brands, see external filter media. In stock for pickup at our Lethbridge shop.
