Seachem Betta Basics™

Betta Basics is a water conditioner formulated for the small volumes of a betta tank, treating tap water and buffering it towards neutral in one step.

Key features

• Removes chlorine and chloramine and detoxifies ammonia in tap water
• Buffers towards a pH of 7.0, which suits bettas well
• Dosed by the capful for the small water volumes a single betta tank uses
• Added with each water change, following the label

Worth being straight about the rest of the setup: a conditioner is not a substitute for equipment. Bettas are tropical fish and need a heated, filtered, cycled tank with regular water changes, not a bowl on a shelf. Males cannot be housed together under any circumstances. Get the tank right and this bottle handles the water.

If you keep larger tanks as well, a general conditioner is more economical per litre. See our water conditioners.
