We do not take backorders on live fish, invertebrates or plants. Livestock arrives on the shipping schedule our suppliers and the weather allow, so we will not promise a date we cannot keep.
What is in the tanks changes from week to week. Ask us and we will tell you what is in and what is coming, or check back shortly. Visit us or get in touch.

This is an assorted listing of nerite snails (Neritina sp.), so what arrives depends on what came in with the shipment. Expect a mix of shell patterns — stripes, spots, plain olive shells and sometimes horned forms — and a range of sizes. If you want a specific pattern, ask our staff what is in the tank on the day rather than ordering blind, because the mix genuinely changes from week to week.
Aquarium care
- Most nerites sold here sit between 1 and 3 cm depending on the type.
- All of them are algae grazers, working film and soft algae off glass, wood and rock.
- They do not eat healthy plants.
- None will breed in fresh water, since the larvae need brackish conditions to develop.
- Females may still lay small white eggs on hardscape; these do not hatch.
- Water with reasonable hardness and calcium keeps their shells from pitting.
They suit planted community tanks with peaceful fish and dwarf shrimp, and they are a sensible choice where a self-limiting snail population is wanted. Keep the tank covered, and avoid loaches, pufferfish and larger cichlids as tankmates.
Stock rotates with each shipment, and livestock is available for local pickup at our Lethbridge store. Browse the snails collection.
