Two things are worth knowing before you choose. Aeration works mainly by agitating the water surface, so a pump that keeps the top of the tank moving is doing its job even when the bubble display looks modest. And if the pump ends up below the water line — on the floor, or inside a cabinet — fit a check valve, because a pump that stops without one can let the tank siphon itself down the airline.
