Kordon Ich Attack

Ich Attack is Kordon's herbal alternative to conventional ich medications, built on naphthoquinones from plant extracts rather than on dyes or formalin.

Key features

• Used against single-celled external parasites and similar surface infections in fresh and salt water.
• Contains no malachite green or formalin, which is why keepers with sensitive or scaleless fish often try it first.
• Kordon lists it as safe with aquatic invertebrates. That is the manufacturer's position; in a shrimp tank or a reef we would still start conservatively and watch closely rather than treat any medication as risk free.
• Dye free, so it will not stain silicone, rock or decor.

Using it well

• Herbal treatments generally act more slowly and gently than dye or formalin products, and reported results vary between keepers. For a heavy infestation, a conventional medication in a hospital tank may be the better call.
• Take activated carbon offline while treating, since carbon adsorbs the active ingredients.
• Dose rate, repeat schedule and treated volume are printed on the bottle. Follow them exactly.
