Glo Tetra Assorted (Large)

Glo Tetras are fluorescent aquarium fish sold under the GloFish brand. The colour comes from a fluorescence gene bred into the fish, so it is part of the animal rather than a dye or a coating, it does not fade, and it passes to the offspring. This is an assorted listing of larger fish, which means the mix of colours changes with each delivery and we cannot hold a particular shade. Come in and see what is in the tank.

Aquarium care

• Care is identical to the ordinary, non-fluorescent version of the same fish. Nothing special is needed.
• Keep them in a group. These are shoaling tetras and are unsettled on their own.
• Warm, clean, well filtered water with regular water changes.
• A standard tropical flake or micro pellet, with frozen foods as a supplement.
• Blue or actinic lighting makes the fluorescence obvious. Under normal light the colour is still strong, just less dramatic.

They suit an easy community of similarly sized, similarly active fish. Because these are genetically modified animals, they must never be released into a pond, ditch or waterway, and their sale or keeping is restricted in some jurisdictions, so check the rules where you live before moving them.
