Fluval Carbon 3 Pack

Three pre-filled nylon bags of Fluval activated carbon, ready to drop straight into a canister media basket.

Key features

• Adsorbs dissolved organics, tannins and the compounds behind yellowing water and odours
• Bagged rather than loose, so there is no measuring, no rinsing tray and no spilled granules
• The standard way to strip medication out of the water once a course of treatment has finished
• Three bags per pack, so a fresh one is on hand each time the previous bag has done its job

What's included

Three nylon bags of activated carbon.

When to use it, and when not to

Carbon works by adsorption and eventually saturates. Once exhausted it simply sits in the filter doing nothing, which is why it is a replace item rather than a rinse item. Take carbon out of the filter while you are medicating a tank, because it will pull the medication out along with everything else, then put a fresh bag in afterwards to clear the residue. Fluval Carbon is also listed separately on its own page. See External Media for the rest of the canister range, with local pickup at our Lethbridge store.
