Choosing the right part

Small hang-on filters have little media volume to spare, so a loaded pad shows up as reduced flow much sooner than it would on a canister. Check it whenever the outflow looks weak. Note that the C2 also uses a separate plain foam pad, which is the biological stage and is not the same part as this one; that is listed on its own page in a two-pack.
