Fluval Aquarium Salt 675g

Fluval Aquarium Salt is an additive-free freshwater aquarium salt, used for tonic and supportive treatment and for establishing low-end brackish conditions.

Key features

• Straight aquarium salt with nothing else added, so you control exactly what goes into the water.
• Used as supportive care during illness and in quarantine set-ups.
• Also used when setting up brackish conditions for species that genuinely need them, such as some gobies and puffers.

Specifications

• 675 g carton

Suitability notes

• Salt does not suit every freshwater tank. Soft-water community fish, scaleless species such as loaches and many catfish, and most live plants respond poorly to it.
• For a brackish tank, a hydrometer or refractometer matters far more than a scoop. Guessing at salinity is not good enough for the species that need it.
• Because salt stays behind when water evaporates, top up with fresh water only and replace salt in line with water changes.
• Use the dose printed on the carton for the purpose you have in mind.
