Fluval 307/407 Bio-Foam+

A replacement Bio-Foam+ block that fits the Fluval 307 and Fluval 407 canister filters.

Key features

• One part covers both the 307 and the 407, which simplifies things if you run one of each
• Handles mechanical filtration, holding back waste and detritus at the start of the media stack
• Open foam acts as a bacterial bed, making it part of the biological filter rather than just a strainer
• Custom shaped so water passes through the block instead of squeezing past the edges

Replacing it

Treat foam as washable. Rinse and squeeze it in a container of aquarium water whenever you open the canister, and keep it until it stops recovering its shape. When that day comes, change one block rather than the whole set, because a full foam swap takes your established bacteria out with it.

Bio-Foam Max is a separate, thicker block with a rippled face and is listed under its own filter models. Value packs for the 307 and 407 are listed individually. See External Media for the rest, or collect at our Lethbridge store.
