The albino longfin corydoras is a double selection from the bronze corydoras (Corydoras aeneus), combining the pink-white albino body and red eyes with fins drawn out into soft trailing points. The wild form ranges across much of South America, and the aquarium strain kept its easy temperament. They work the bottom in a loose group, sifting substrate with their barbels, and stay busy in daylight.

Aquarium care

  • Adults reach roughly 6 to 7 cm.
  • A shoaling fish โ€” keep six or more, and they behave far better in larger groups.
  • Smooth sand or well-rounded gravel is important; sharp substrate wears the barbels away.
  • Feed a sinking food of their own. They will not get enough from what drifts down from flake feeding.
  • Rises to the surface for a gulp of air from time to time, which is normal for the genus.
  • The long fins tear easily, so keep flow gentle and avoid nippy tankmates.

They suit a peaceful planted community with small tetras, rasboras, livebearers and dwarf cichlids. Avoid tiger barbs and serpae tetras, which will target the extended fins, and avoid large cichlids that will treat a cory as food.

Stock rotates with each shipment, and livestock is available for local pickup at our Lethbridge store. See the corydoras collection.
