Stands

An aquarium stand carries a load most household furniture is not built for, which is why a purpose-made stand earns the space it takes. We currently list one, the Marineland Majesty stand, and availability changes.

Sizing and siting

The top surface has to match or exceed the tank's footprint, because a base that overhangs its support concentrates stress on the bottom pane. Weight is the other half of the decision, since water alone is roughly ten pounds per gallon before you add glass, substrate and rock, so even a modest tank becomes a serious load. Levelling once in place matters too, as a twisted stand puts uneven pressure on the seams.

Stands are usually bought with the tank itself and a levelling mat.

Tanks to sit on top are under Aquariums.
