Reef PVC Primer & Glue

Primer and solvent cement for joining rigid PVC. This is a single product covering both steps, which is enough for most aquarium and sump plumbing jobs.

How it works

Solvent cement does not glue PVC so much as chemically fuse it, which is why a finished joint is permanent and why the primer step matters: it cleans and softens the surface so the cement can bite. Two things to get right. The cement has to be rated for the pipe schedule you are using, and joints need to cure before water goes near them, with the time on the label depending on pipe size and temperature.

It is bought alongside pipe, fittings and valves.
